This is my fourth file/filing cabinet in a 10 year period, this is BY FAR the best. After two cheaply made "home office grade" filing cabinets with hangrails (don't waste your money on a cabinet that requires those cheap rails), I chose to invest in a commercial grade cabinet. Initially I felt the best value I found was at my local Sam's Club for a Hirsh model 14780 (<$100, stated it was "commercial grade"), just after buying the Hirsh, I found this HON new and on clearance.
So I returned the Hirsh, after much debate. When I did, I realized the HON looked the same, but is 20lbs heavier! I am an adult woman and could barely carry it in from the car. It is much sturdier, and with high sides, there are no cheap rails. The drawer suspension is as smooth as the $1200 HON lateral file at my office, and the 370 includes two spring loaded follower blocks to keep your files from sliding around as well (one for each drawer). I recommend a HON above all others; it's well worth the extra cost.

I bought this to be a companion to the one exactly like it that I already have. Why? because I have growing paperwork files need and the one I have has worked flawlessly for over 8 years that I saw no need to search out another type or brand! Very good product for the money; couldn't ask for more.

Disappointing Quality Control

I have purchased and used a lot of HON file cabinets both vertical and horizontal and considered them top of the line file cabinets. December 31, 2009 I ordered a new cabinet to be used in my home. I shopped around and the Amazon price of $191.58 with free delivery was great.
However, when the file cabinet was delivered, I inspected it and was disappointed with the quality control. A seam on top is open rather than closed the way it would typically be. When I opened a drawer, a spring was laying on the bottom of the drawer and at this point I don't know where it belongs. Hopefully, it is an extra spring an employee dropped during assembly.
The drawers open and close and latch shut just fine. There are no complaints from a functional standpoint.
This is when you wish this was an item that could easily be sent back. Since this is not the case, I am going to keep this file cabinet but am disappointed with the quality control. This cabinet is not up to the standards I expect of HON cabinets.
